The trailer is all story – bloody, giblet splattering story.

It takes players to alternate-universe Alcatraz overrun by the undead. Exactly how this occurred, the trailer doesn’t explain. There’s no exposition. But if you watch the video, you might come to the same conclusion as me. The gates of hell opened on the island and claimed the damned, bringing with glorious zombie-slaying action.

Longtime fans of Call of Duty: Black Ops’ zombie modes should recognize another prominent feature of this video, too – the song. For those who don’t know, a track titled “Where are we Going” was featured as an Easter egg in the Mob of the Dead zombies map in Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 3. The song – written by Treyarch sound designer Kevin Sherwood and James McCawley, and performed by vocalist Malukah, was originally about half the length of what appears in this trailer.

Of course, the Zombie mode isn’t the only mode in the game. In fact, we posted a trailer giving a look at all the game modes was last month.

If trailers aren’t enough for you, then you might also want to check out our PC Beta Impressions or our thoughts on the Blackout battle royale mode. There’s a lot of excellent information there for those looking for a little more info on what to expect from Black Ops 4.
