Emslie took to Reddit yesterday to make the announcement as a way of clearing the air, cutting through the confusion caused by what he considers misinformation about the upcoming shooter.
Loot boxes and locking progression behind paywalls doesn’t count among the loads of information we already know about the game. Instead, Emslie’s comment is most likely in reference to the game’s recent beta period, where players discovered what appeared to be place-holder text for some type of loot box mechanic.
According to Emslie, more information about Modern Warfare’s unlockables will be shared later this week. No specific timeframe was provided for when that information would become available.
